GEORGE PENZER
FREMONT -- George Wellington Penzer, 89, of 198 Pinkney Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. The Rev. Richard Glosson and the Rev. Paul Brantley will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Penzer was born in Richmond, Va., to the late Percy and Helen Penzer. He was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Penzer; three sons, Bertram Penzer of Fremont and George Penzer Jr. and Warren Penzer of Scottsburg, Va.; two stepsons, Marvin Waddell of Pikeville and Floyd Waddell of Fremont; one daughter, Carol Anne Conner of Salemburg, N.C.; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
