EDDIE THORNTON
NEWTON GROVE -- Eddie Ray Thornton, 51, of 2321 Mount Olive Highway, died Saturday.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West & Dunn Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Thornton Family Cemetery.
Mr. Thornton is survived by a daughter, Theresa Denning; three sisters, Ernestine Tucker of Newton Grove and Brenda Thornton and Eleanor Strickland of Mount Olive; four brothers, Newland "Buck" Thornton of Goldsboro, Dwight Thornton of Newton Grove, Keith Thornton of Benson and William Thornton of Four Oaks; two grandsons; special friends, Joey Hairr, George Clark, Byron Thornton, Melvin Tucker Sr., and Angie Tucker, all of Mount Olive; 11 nieces, 3 nephews, and loved ones too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha Thornton.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
