RUTH OVERMAN
LUCAMA -- Ruth Hardison Overman, 84, died Thursday evening at Britthaven of Wilson.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Shackle-ford-Howell Funeral Home. The Rev. Patsy Jones and the Rev. Webb will officiate. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
Mrs. Overman was born in Lenoir County to the late Neal and Celia Hardison. She was a member of Stantonsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by one son, Edward Overman of Lucama; one daughter, Evelyn Boykin of Lucama; one sister, Essie Jenkins of New Bern; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie William Overman.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 5 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine Street in Fremont, and other times at the residence, 7625 Wheatswamp Road.
