EVELYN DEAL
MOUNT OLIVE -- Evelyn Hill Deal, 80, of 102 Johnson Court, died Wednesday afternoon in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Services will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Ray Bowen officiating. Committal and interment will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Deal, born on the family farm in the Saulston community of Wayne County, was the daughter of the late Cecil and Lou Moore Hill. She was the widow of John Dudley Deal and was a retired seamstress, having been employed by Young Squire Industries and Mary's Dress Shop, former businesses in Mount Olive.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Lynn "Phil" and Jo Burton Deal of Mount Olive; five grandchildren, Brad P. Deal, Jeffrey Lynn Deal, and Shane Goodson of Mount Olive, Michelle Deal Nuckels of Downington, Pa., and Dawn Deal Sutton of Marco Island, Fla.; 10 great-grandchildren, Knowlt Sutton, Zyle Sutton, Mandy Nuckels, Courtney Nuckels, T. J. Nuckels, Adam Deal, Landon Deal, Tyler Nugent, Elisa Goodson, and Hannah Angel; several nieces and nephews, including Ronald Singletary of Jacksonville, Don Singletary of Georgia and Ricky Hill of Goldsboro; and special friends, Ray and Pat Bowen of Savannah, Ga., and Lettie Fay Williams and family of Mount Olive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Deal Goodson, a granddaughter, Jessica Lyn Deal, a great-granddaughter, Nealy Goodson, a sister, Mae H. Singletary, and a brother, Milton Hill.
The family will remain at Tyndall Funeral Home to receive friends following the service tonight, The family will remain afterward to receive friends. At other times, they will be at the Phil Deal residence, 201 N. Church Street in Mount Olive.
