RETHA HINTON
SELMA -- Retha Henry Hinton, 91, formerly of Selma, died Thursday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with Dr. Bob Albritton officiating. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hinton was born in Johnston County on March 27, 1913, to the late Walter Aaron and Annie Pace Henry. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church and Selma Chapter #209 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Hinton, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Delma Cates, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Hales.
Her survivors include a son, Don Hinton, and his wife, Ellen, of Raleigh; a daughter, Laverne Hales of Goldsboro; a granddaughter and her husband, Forrest and Jim Nidiffer of Raleigh; grandsons and their wives, Kent and Donna Hales of Bristol, Tenn., Clay and Brenda Hales of Chattanooga, Tenn., Trey and Janet Hinton of Smithfield, and Eric Hinton of Greenville, N.C.; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 on Saturday, immediately prior to the funeral.
