AVERY HACKETT
Our little angel, Avery Jamison Hackett, age 6, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Avery was a first grade student at Meadow Lane Elementary School. She enjoyed life and had a great love for ballet, reading and especially her accelerated math work.
A Celebration of Life Service for Avery will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at Whitley Church with Pastor Andy Stovall, Pastor Ferrell Hardison, Pastor Jimmy Bryant and Rev. William Barber officiating. Interment will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Avery is survived by her loving parents, Joseph and Gena Hackett of Goldsboro; her paternal grandmother, Naydene Hackett of Goldsboro; her maternal grandparents, Gene and Mona Lupton of Kinston; her great-grand mother, Alma Carawan of Vandemere, N.C.; her aunts and uncles, Gene Lupton Jr. of Grifton, Greg Hackett and wife, Teresa, of Goldsboro, Beth Hackett of Goldsboro and KayLynn Hackett of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is also survived by her cousins, Philip Bunn, Sarah Payne, Mandy, Geoff, Kyle, Kelsey and Travis Hackett; her godmother, Seanna Whitfield; and a host of other relatives, teachers, dance teachers, dancers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gene Hackett, and her aunt, Erin Lupton.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please fill the church with stuffed animals that will be donated to hospitalized children at the Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill so they will have a friend to be with them. Contributions may also be made to the School of Goldsboro Ballet, 782 S NC 111 Hwy, Goldsboro, NC 27534. Please also consider becoming an organ donor.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the church and other times at the residence, 403 Renee Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
