MOLLIE BATTLE
Mollie L. Battle, 87, formerly of 1704 S. Slocumb St., died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Alpha and Omega Christian Center. Pastor Frank Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by a foster daughter, Janice Hamm of Goldsboro; nieces, Sadie McLaurin, Sharon Artis (Donnell), Patricia Warren (Jeff), and Iris Bates (Gregory), all of Goldsboro; Vanessa Raynor (Michael) of Richmond, Va., Gayle Shelby of Philadelphia, Pa., Hester Savage of St. Louis, Mo., Cynthia Rivers (Sinclair) and Towanda McCollum (Jerry) of Raleigh; nephews, Albert Applewhite (Annie), Kennedy McLaurin and Kirk McLaurin (Melody) of Goldsboro, Andre Applewhite of Lanthan, Md., Anthony McLaurin (Doris) of Columbia, S.C., Lawrence Yelverton, Donnie Yelverton and Willie Yelverton of Philadelphia, Pa.; six foster grandchildren, 26 foster great-grandchildren and two foster great-great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. today at Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Goldsboro and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
