MAUDE B. ROSE
Maude Bryan Rose, 98, of 107 Woodland St. died Thursday at home.
She was born in Sampson County to the late Nathan Thomas and Ida Simmons Creel and was married to the late Lisker Bryan, Moses Westbrook and Joel Rose. A member of Jordans Chapel Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union and a volunteer at the Community Developmental School at Walnut Street School.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Jordans Chapel Baptist Church. The Revs. Frank Sandy and Jim Turbyfill will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Carroll Bryan of Selma; four daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia Sullivan and Marie Brown of Mount Olive, Edna and Robert Grantham of Grantham and Maxine Lipscomb of Dudley; and 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Flowers are welcome; however, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Jordans Chapel Church.
