Mrs. Eleanor Grace Booth Hollowell, 79, formerly of 1506 E. Holly St., died Tuesday at the Brian Center of Goldsboro.

A native of Jones County, she was the daughter of the late Ransome and Rosa Booth. Mrs. Hollowell was a graduate of East Carolina Teacher's College and was a retired teacher with the Goldsboro City School system having taught for twenty-six years. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Along with her church work, Mrs. Hollowell was very active in several civic and volunteer organizations and was an avid bridge player.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. David Harvin, Rev. George McGill and Rev. Ray Broadwell officiating.

Mrs. Hollowell is survived by her husband, Wilton C. Hollowell, and her son, David Hollowell, and his wife, Lesli.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Roy Booth, Mary Ipock, Bob Booth, John Booth, Annie Mallard, Nannie Mallard and Rose Hales.

The family wants to express their gratitude for all the love and support given by family and friends during the time of her illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall and Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Claire Starling, 1501 E. Beech Street, Goldsboro, NC.
