MATILDA McKEEL
Matilda "Sissy" Lane McKeel, 97, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Elvin Butts officiating.
Mrs. McKeel A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Francis Lane and was married to the late Jim McKeel. She had been a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church for 75 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Helen Grady and husband, A. T., of Richmond, Va., Jackie White and Kay Lewis, both of Goldsboro; four sons, Rudy Lane, Jimmy McKeel and wife, Louise, Doug McKeel and wife, Ann, all of Goldsboro, and Sherrill McKeel and wife, Judy, of Dudley; 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Benton and four brothers, Leslie, Barney, Bruce and Milton Lane.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy McKeel, 207 Quail Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
