MARY RHODES
Mary Lee Godwin Rhodes, 77, died Monday at her home.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The Rev. Rose Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Johnston County, Mrs. Rhodes was the daughter of the late Frank and Leona Capps Godwin and was the widow of Jim Rhodes. She was employed with Dr. James Zealy for over 35 years as his bookkeeper and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Her survivors include a daughter, Kathy R. Taylor, and her husband, Buddy, of Goldsboro; daughter-in-law, Ruth Davis Blizzard of Goldsboro; three stepsons, Allan Rhodes, and wife, Renee, of Princeton, Gary Rhodes and wife, Bonnie, of Princeton and Sam Rhodes and wife, Julie, of Hickory; her grandchildren, Melissa Davis Brock and husband, Billy, Amanda Davis, Ginger R. Sutton, Alana Rhodes, Christine Rhodes, Evan Rhodes, Brad Rhodes and wife, Melissa, and Michael Rhodes; her great-granddaughters, Kelsey Sutton and Hailey Sutton; three sisters, Frances Howell of Goldsboro, Sonja Hopkins of New Bern and Linda Calisto of Littleton; and one brother, Millard Godwin of New Bern.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Davis; a son, Kenneth Lee Davis; two sisters, JoAnn Colby and Hazel Perrault; and a brother, Jimmy Godwin.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
