WARSAW -- The funeral for Maggie Best, 81, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hines Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Dr. Navarro Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.
Mrs. Best died last Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
She was born in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Squire and Mary Williams Miller. She attended Duplin County Public Schools and had worked as a pediatric nurse with Home Care. She was a member of Hines Chapel F.W.B. Church and its Senior Choir.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Johnson of Raleigh; one brother, Curtis Miller of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Lucy Miller of Baltimore, Md., and Sarah Williams of Warsaw; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The wake will be held Saturday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Warsaw.
The family will assemble at the residence at 114 W. Washington St. in Warsaw at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to prepare for the funeral procession.
