KENNETH HALES
Kenneth W. Hales, 70, of Holland Hill Drive near Goldsboro, died Wednesday.
Born in Johnston County on April 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Rolan and E.J. Creech Hales. He worked for many years in wholesale food sales and in his later years he worked in sales at Wood Pest Control in Smithfield. He was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church and of James B. Green Masonic Lodge #735.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hales is survived by his wife, LaVerne Hinton Hales; sons, Kent Hales, and wife, Donna, of Bristol, Tenn., and Clay Hales of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Wallace Hales, and wife, Glenda, of Wilmington; a sister, Joy Boytte, and husband, Charlie, of Durham; grandchildren, Annie Richards and husband, Dusty, of San Antonio, Texas, Jaclyn Hales of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and his mother-in-law, Retha Hinton of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
