ATHANIEL PARKS
Athaniel Parks, 78, of 713-B Newsome St., died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, LaGrange. The Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Mr. Parks was born in Wayne County on Dec. 17, 1925, and was the son of the late Galloway and Ada Parks. He graduated from Central High School and served in the United States Air force. He was a retired employee of Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
He is survived by one sister, Clara (Elgene) Lewis of Baltimore, Md., and one brother, Jesse Parks of Pittsburg, Pa.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Goldsboro, and other times the family will be at the home.
