MYRTLE HARE
Myrtle Holt Hare, 97, of 242 Calvin Lane, died Tuesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday evening 6:30 at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose will officiate. Interment will be Friday morning at 10 at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Shirley Ward officiating.
A native of Johnston County, Mrs. Hare was the daughter of the late Jim Holt and Betty Young Holt and was married to the late Louis Russell Hare. She was a retired bookkeeper and had been employed with Princeton Town Hall, Tart's Saw Mill in Princeton and the city of New York. She also worked for many years as a cook at B&G Grill and was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene H. and Calvin Edwards of Goldsboro; one son, Louis Russell Hare Jr. of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren, John Harrell, Jim Harrell, Paul Harrell, Anne Barnes, Jenny Coudriet, Lydia Mills, Regina Overbee, Marlene Martin and Cindy Miller; and twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Calvin and Marlene H. Edwards, 242 Calvin Lane, Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to Brogden United Methodist Church, 2918 South U.S. Hwy. 117, Dudley, N.C., 28333; or to the charity of one's choice.
