WILLIE GLASPIE
DUDLEY -- The funeral for Willie L. Glaspie, 53, of 220 Hack Drive, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Goshen Disciple Church in Faison. Dr. David Atkinson will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Park.
Mr. Glaspie died on Oct. 9, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Arthur and Hilda Hicks Glaspie and was a former employee with Washington Surburban Sanitation Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Glaspie; seven sons and their wives, Willie L. and Sherry Glaspie of Pink Hill, Nicky R. and Tracy Williams of Goldsboro, Antonio I. Venable of Washington, D.C., Eric O. Glaspie of Philadelphia, Pa., Derrick Bell of Clinton, Md., Willie L. Glaspie Jr. and Jamal A. Garnett of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Chenee L. Glaspie of Laurel, Md., and Latoya Venable and Courtney L. Glaspie of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Georgia M. Butler and Edna McKenney of Mount Olive and Annie Nixon of Dudley; three brothers, the Rev. Alden Glaspie of Faison, John M. Glaspie of Maryland and Bobby Glaspie of Dudley; 16 grandchildren; and special friends, Ronnie Brooks, and her daughter, Jasmine.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 8 today at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 tonight. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Bobby and Linda Glaspie, 3511 U.S. 117 S. Alt., Dudley.
