LOU G. GRANTHAM

Mary Lou Gardner Grantham, 71, of 1308 Patetown Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was born to the late Thedie and Mary Blizzard Gardner and was raised by the late Nina Pate Gardner, the only mother she knew.

Mrs. Grantham was employed for 25 years with the Wayne County Tax Listing Department. She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church and its Alpha Circle and Ambassador Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Grantham; one daughter, Kelly Quinn and husband, Jeff, of Goldsboro; one son, Eddie Grantham and wife, Kim, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Leah and Jordan Quinn, Brian Grantham and wife Amy, and Hannah Grantham; one great-grandson, Cuyler Grantham; her sisters, Esther Lancaster and husband, J. R., of Patetown, Grace Davis and husband, Leslie, of Patetown, Betty Jean Corbett and husband, Donald, of Goldsboro, Arlene Gardner of Pikeville, and Linda Casey and husband, Ben, of Patetown; brothers, James E. "Hoss" Gardner and wife, Dorothy, of Pikeville, George Gardner and wife, Carol, of Pikeville, and Thedie Gardner and wife, Anna, of Patetown.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverends Gary Bailey, Barry Williamson, and Joe Ingram officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Steve Lancaster, Mike Lancaster, Carlo Gardner, Joey Gardner, Ricky Davis, Mark Casey, Paul Casey, Tyron Corbett and Lavon Corbett. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ambassador Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home.
