JOYCE EDWARDS
Joyce Cross Edwards, of Vinwood Avenue, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Braswell and the Rev. Hunter Preston officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m.. at Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was a native of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Levi Cross and Callie Cross Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Retired CMSgt. Curtis R. Edwards of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Jean Pope; her granddaughters, Brandy Williams and Melissa Pope, and two great-granddaughters, all of Hampton, Virginia. She is also survived by one step-daughter, Velma Ruth Edwards, one step-granddaughter and husband Tony Capps and two step great-grandchildren all of Goldsboro; her sister, Annie Rose Everett; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elaine Cross of Goldsboro; and three nieces and three nephews and their children.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home following the service on Tuesday night, and at other times at the home.
