MARY CUTHRELL
SALISBURY -- Mary Ellington Cuthrell, 85, of 218 Knollwood Ave., formerly of Goldsboro, died Wednesday at her home.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Dr. Thomas L. Griffis will officiate.
The family will receive friends afterward in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Cuthrell was a native of Rocky Mount and was the daughter of the late William V. and Mary Taylor Ellington. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and taught in the Snow Hill, Goldsboro Whiteville and Salisbury public schools and at Wayne Community College. She was a member of the North Carolina Association of Educators.
She is survived by her husband, Hiram J. Cuthrell; one son, Dr. William V. Cuthrell of Louisville, Ky., a daughter, Lee C. Spada of North Ridge, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
