REV. JOHN MATHENA
The Rev. John Calvin Mathena, 65, of Gordon Road, Clayton, died Monday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Tazewell, Va., and was the son of the late Charles and Myrtle Peek Mathena.
His survivors include his wife, Virginia Bryant Mathena; a daughter, Shelia Mathena Cuddington of Princeton; two sons, David Mathena of Sanford and Roger Mathena of Chapel Hill; one sister, Rosie Booher of Bristol, Va.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Minshew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hills of Neuse Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
