NELLIE P. SPELL
MOUNT OLIVE -- Nellie "Boot" Padgett Spell, 86, of 1994 Tram Road, died Sunday afternoon at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Fussell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Padgett Family Cemetery at the home.
The daughter of the late Lewis Padgett and Sadie Bradley Padgett and the widow of Tom Spell, she was a retired lunchroom employee at B.F. Grady Elementary School with 30 years of service. She was also the retired custodian at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a long-time member.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice Joan S. Westbrook, along with her husband, Keith Westbrook of Mount Olive; five grandchildren, Rachelle W. Johnson of Mount Olive, Jennifer W. Holmes of Kenansville, Ricky Padgett, Braxton Padgett, and Boyce Padgett, all of Mount Olive; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annie Mae S. Taylor of Mount Olive.
She was also the mother of the late Linwood Bruce Padgett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 7 until 9. At other times, they will be at the home of Alice Joan and Keith Westbrook.
Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home service of Mount Olive.
