JAMES P. SKINNER

LAGRANGE -- James Prentice "Buster" Skinner, 70, of 180 Fussell Road, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mr. Skinner was the son of the late Henry and Ava Grady Skinner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Sullivan Skinner and a son, James Prentice Skinner Jr. Mr. Skinner was the retired owner and operator of Country Butcher Shop. He farmed for many years and was a member of New Hope Road Church Of God.

Funeral services will be held today at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Elbert Reeves and the Rev. Billy Sullivan officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Skinner is survived by a daughter, Claudia Kornegay and husband, Jimmy of LaGrange; son, Weylin Skinner and wife, Pat of LaGrange; two grandsons, Aaron Kornegay and wife, Jenny of LaGrange, Todd Kornegay and wife, Kellie of LaGrange; three great-grandchildren, Austin Kornegay, Tyler Kornegay and Abigail Kornegay; and a special nephew, Bobby Skinner of Kinston.

The family will receive friends following the service Monday and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kornegay, 260 Piney Grove Road, LaGrange. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
