CHARLES R. KENNEDY
Charles Robert Kennedy, 43, of 2150 Stevens Mill Road, died Wednesday.
He was born in Wayne County to Robert and Judy Morrison Kennedy of the home. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Hazel Kennedy and his paternal grandfather, Charles Morrison. A member of Black Jack Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, Charles was a self-employed carpenter and an active amateur bull rider.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Black Jack Original Free Will Baptist Church with his uncle, Major Cecil Brogden and the Rev. Jason Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Neuse Friends Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica Ann Kennedy of the home; a son, Charles Robert Kennedy Jr. of Goldsboro; his close friend and former wife, Donna M. Pearce of Goldsboro; his maternal grandmother, Marie Morrison of La Crosse, Kan,; a brother, John E. Kennedy of Goldsboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry K. and Richard Biddle of Winfield, Kan., and Angie K. and Danny R. Herring of Goldsboro; nieces and nephews, Matthew Robert Davis and Kelly Kennedy Davis of Winfield, Kan., Danyle Herring of Goldsboro, Robert Ray Herring of Goldsboro, Ashley L. Kennedy of Goldsboro, and Jennifer N. Herring of Kenansville.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Jessica Ann and Charles Robert Kennedy, Jr. College Fund, 2150 Stevens Mill Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
