KENDALL LOUDERMILK

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Kendall Wayne Loudermilk, of 3710 S. Pine St., died Sunday, June 27, near Barnsville, Ga., as a result of injuries received in a helicopter accident. His wife, Kelly Cochran Loudermilk, was also a victim of the same accident.

He was the son of Wendy Biggs Loudermilk, formerly of Goldsboro, N.C.

A native of Spartanburg, Mr. Loudermilk was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was a senior firefighter for the city of Spartanburg. He had obtained his private helicopter license and was working on his commercial rating and instructor certification. He was a former dispatcher for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1990 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, and an instructor at the South Carolina Firefighter's Academy. He was active in the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jase Kendall Loudermilk of the home; his father Wayne George Loudermilk, and his wife, Carmen; his grandmother, Jessie M. Loudermilk of Seneca, SC; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Rita Cochran of Spartanburg; his sister-in-law Alicia Cochran, and nephew, Cameran A. Cochran, of Spartanburg.

The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, June 30, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Bobo Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be Thursday at noon at Morningside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Holland and Dr. Kirk Neely officiating. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bethesda Baptist Church, 799 Bethesda Road, Spartanburg, S.C., 29302.

The family is at their respective homes.
