SALLIE B. KEEL
SNOW HILL -- Sallie Rebecca Butler Keel of 2849 U.S. 13 South passed away Saturday morning at Britthaven Nursing Home in Snow Hill following a period of declining health.
She was born Oct. 25, 1926 to the late William Jesse and Mandy Davenport Butler. Mrs. Keel had resided in Greene County since her early childhood.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Chuck Owens and the Rev. Jack Keel officiating. A private committal service will be held on Tuesday at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Keel is survived by her husband, James Clayton Keel; sons, Jack Keel and wife Patricia, Henry Keel and wife Peggy and Tracy Keel and wife Vickie, all of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Rodney Keel and wife Christy of LaGrange, Angie K. Jones and husband Mike of Dudley, Clay Keel and wife Amy of Kinston, Eric Keel of Snow Hill, Jason Keel of Florida and Austin Keel of Snow Hill; step-grandchildren, Ryan Griffin, Bryan Griffin and Tyler Griffin, all of Snow Hill; great-grandchildren, Brooke Jones, Blake Jones, Daly Keel, Taylor Keel, Emily Keel and Nicole Keel; a special and devoted friend, Joyce M. Keel of Snow Hill; and a brother, Kelly Butler of Grifton.
The family will receive friends Monday evening following the service and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harrell's Chapel F.W.B. Church, c/o Lin Radford, 210 Lakeside Drive, Snow Hill, N.C. 28580.
