LAZARUS STALLINGS
Lazarus King Stallings Jr., 85, died Saturday at the Brian Center.
A native of Wayne County, Mr. Stallings was the son of the late Lazarus King Stallings Sr. and Mattie Snipes Stallings and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army-Air Force. He was a retired manager with Shaver Battery with 28 years of service. After his retirement, Mr. Stallings continued working with the public as a director with Seymour Funeral Home. Mr. Stallings was past governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose and was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
Mr. Stallings is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ruby Nunn Stallings; his sons, E. Ray Stallings and wife Mary Sue of Lexington and L. Kay Stallings III of Winston-Salem; his daughter, Donna Henderson and husband Jerry of Kinston; his sister, Lola Jinnette of Texas; his grandchildren, Erin Stallings, Brooke S. Barksdale and husband Drew, Lenny Stallings, and David Henderson and wife Betsy, and Megan Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Stevens and Hazel Loftin; and his brother, Kennon Stallings.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the graveside and other times at his residence, 1200 Park Avenue A, Goldsboro.
