KATHLEEN JONES
Kathleen Kennedy Jones, 82, of 1910 E. Holly Street, died Tuesday at the Brian Center.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Kennedy and Susan Houston Kennedy and was the widow of Marvin Jones. Mrs. Jones retired from Franklin Baking Company with 40 years of service and was a member of The Pentecostal Christian Assembly.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters, Judy Tew and husband, Charlie, of Rosewood and Joyce Ann Lane of Goldsboro; her son, Jerry Jones of Goldsboro; and her sisters, Liza Fountain and husband, Murphy, of Calypso and Ruby Tyndall of Deep Run. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kathy Lou Stevens and husband, Kenny, of Pikeville, Lisa Tew Gaskins and husband, Wade, of Wilson, Patience Buchholz and husband, Jeremy, of Omaha, Neb., Angela Tew Harris and husband, Allan, of Snow Hill, Johnetta Pittman and husband, Samuel, of Beulaville, Marvin L. Jones, and Jacob Jones and wife, Brook, of Benson; fifteen great-grandchildren; a special niece, Jean Jones Massey of Ft. Paine, Ala., and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmie Jones and Johnnie Jones; and five brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence at 1910 E. Holly Street.
