GARY E. VANN
Gary Edgar Vann, 52, of 500 Goldleaf Drive, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at his home.
Born in Goldsboro, Mr. Vann was the son of Agnes Howell Vann and the late Sam Vann of Goldsboro. He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School and Wayne Community College. He was a retired superintendent at Carolina Turkeys in Mount Olive, and prior to that worked for several years at Tobacco Processors in Wilson. Mr. Vann was a member of New Hope Friends Church.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Garner officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debbie Braswell Vann; his son, Travis Vann and his daughter, Sherry Vann, both of the home. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Vann Ferrell and husband, Donnie of Garner; two nieces, Dana Etheridge and husband, Mark of Clayton and Ashleigh Ferrell of Garner.
Pallbearers will be Chester Pope, Ralph Braswell, Bob Taylor, Carl Westbrook, David Williams and Wendal Campbell.
The family will receive friends Tuesday after the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
