BESSIE R. HINNANT
SELMA -- Bessie R. Hinnant, 92, Gor-An Farm Road, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Johnston County Aug. 2, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Gray Stanford and Ida Sellers Radford. Bessie was a dietitian with the North Carolina Public School System for more than 20 years.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home of Selma with Dr. Dannie Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are a son, Gerald Hinnant, and wife, Sylvia, of Pine Level, two daughters, Shelva Southerland of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bonnie Hunter and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Evan Southerland, Bren Southerland, Lora Weisenthal, Kevin Hinnant, Tony Hinnant, Beth Byrd and Bill Hunter Jr.; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service and at other times, at the home of Gerald Hinnant, 32 Gor-An Farm Road, Selma.
