VIRGINIA H. LEWIS
ASHEVILLE -- Mrs. Virginia Hancock Lewis, 91, died Saturday at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Center in Asheville.
A native of Richmond, Va., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Grace Walton Hancock and the widow of James Spencer Lewis Jr. Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Giles Chapel at Deerfield Retirement Center.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro with the Rev. Raby Edwards officiating.
She is survived by her son, James Spencer Lewis III of Waynesville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, 27834, or to Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Center, 1617 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, 28803.
The family will receive friends following the service.
