BETSY P. MERCER
LUCAMA -- Betsy Pittman Mercer, 40, died Friday.
She was born in Wayne County, daughter of Tom and Nancy Powell Pittman on May 13, 1963, a member of the Farmington Heights Church of God and was a nurse in recent years.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Farmington Heights Church of God with the Rev. LaVon Phillips and the Rev. Terry Hartley officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship has been set up in her name for Nursing Education through Farmington Heights Church of God, 910 Raleigh Road, Wilson, 27896.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Mercer; sons, Ryan and Daniel Mercer both of the home; parents, Tom and Nancy Pittman of Lucama; brothers, Tommy Pittman of Cary and Greg Pittman of Rock Ridge; and sister, Malissa Ellis of Fremont.
Arrangements are by Thomas-Yelverton at Evergreen Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations, 2704 Nash St. North, Wilson.
