RUBIE N. BEST

Rubie Naylor Best, 73, of 811 Lynch Drive, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born in St. Pauls to the late Rasburn and Katie Johnson Naylor. She was a dedicated member of Mays Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and served others as a private nurses aid for many years.

The funeral service will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Allen Stanley and Richard Glosson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Magruder Hampton Best of the home; three sons, Robert Wayne Best of Oklahoma, Thomas Best of Clinton and Kenneth Best of Clayton; one daughter, Sandra B. Head of Goldsboro; two brothers, Johnny Naylor of Pinetops and David Naylor of Kinston; three sisters, Helen Potts of Goldsboro, Betty Pittard of Roanoke Rapids and Louise Naylor of St. Pauls; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Naylor.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be directed to Mays Chapel F.W.B. Church, c/o Barbara Lancaster, 118 Ridgecrest Drive, Mount Olive, N.C. 28365. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Monday night at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory, 2873 U.S. 117 S., Goldsboro, and at other times at the home.
