L. EDISON PATE
MOUNT OLIVE -- Leslie Edison Pate, 74, died Friday at his home.
He was the son of the late Robert Leslie Pate Jr. and Betty Vernon Pate.
He had served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the maintenance department with Duplin County schools.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Whitesides officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Arwilda Rouse Pate; one daughter, Gail P. Knowles and husband Dennis of Rose Hill; one brother, C.D. Pate and wife Margaret of Goldsboro; one grandchild, Samantha Knowles.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bear Marsh Youth Fund.
Arrangements are with Tyndall Funeral Home.
