CHRISTINE GODWIN
NEWTON GROVE -- The funeral for Christine G. Godwin, 88, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Dr. W. Burkette Raper and the Rev. Roger Hill will officiate. Burial will be at Hopewell Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Godwin died Tuesday.
She was the daughter of Tempie and Allen B. Gilbert and the widow of the Rev. C. Felton Godwin. She was a charter member of Newton Grove Chapter #267, Order of the Eastern Star, and was also a member of Woodmen of the World.
She is survived by a sister, Britt Burroughs of Edenton; and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday at the home of Charles Godwin, 2194 Rosin Hill Road, Newton Grove.
