WILLIAM BATTEN
LUCAMA -- William "Bill" Arthur Batten, 54, of 7311 Atkinson Road, died Monday at Pitt Medical Center.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.
Mr. Batten was born in Johnston County to the late Wilbert Lee and Agnes Morris Batten and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tripp Batten; a daughter, Beverly Wooten of Kenly; a stepdaughter, Carol Wilkie of Lucama; two stepsons, Bobby Southwick of Alaska and Billy Southwick of Maine; a sister, Clara Stallings of Bailey; a brother, David Batten of Florida; and two grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Coley Funeral Home, Kenly.
