PETE LEE
PRINCETON -- The funeral for Sidney Sherwood "Pete" Lee Jr., of 209 N. Elm Street, was held today at 11 a.m. at Casey Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee died Saturday at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Born September 14, 1922, he was the son of the late Sidney Sherwood and Ada Worley Lee. He was a member of the Princeton Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, usher, choir member and deacon, and was a member of many committees through the years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a former Princeton Town Commissioner, was a member of Princeton Fire Department for 35 years, and had been a member of the Princeton Rescue Squad for the past 30 years. He was the treasurer for the Johnston County Rescue Association and was affiliated with the Election Board.
Mr. Lee had been a part of the Casey Funeral Home and Florist family since 1987, providing services and compassion to families.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Taylor Lee of Princeton; and one son, Herbert Earl Lee "Herbie" of Princeton.
Another son, Ronnie Lee, preceded him in death.
The family received friends on Monday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
