JOSEPHINE HARPER
GREENVILLE -- Josephine Uzzell Harper, 84, died Monday.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service and at other times at the home. The graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. at Saint Barnabas Cemetery in Snow Hill.
Mrs. Harper, a native of Greene County, grew up in Lenoir County and had been a resident of Greenville since 1976. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Jewel Mewborn Uzzell. She was retired from child care and was a member of the Order of the Greenville Chapter Eastern Star # 149, the White Shrine of Jerusalem #7 and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, J. Francis Harper.
She is survived by one son, Edward J. Harper, II; one sister, Mary Frances Griffin of Wilson; two brothers, Harold W. Uzzell of Charlotte and Gerald M. Uzzell of Goldsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
