ELIJAH JONES
LAGRANGE -- Elijah "Bro" Jones, 70, of 207 N. Center St., died Friday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
The funeral was held today at 11 a.m. at Jones Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church with Bishop William Earl Jones officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Lynch of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Michelle Jones of LaGrange; three sons, James Ervin Jones of Kinston, Donald Ray Jones of LaGrange and Michael Anthony Jones of Grifton; eight sisters, Ida Taylor of California, Ethel Powell of Kinston, Thelma Johnson and Ruth Christian of Richmond, Lola Maple of Bronx, N.Y., Laura Cotton and Martha Taylor of Kinston, and Mary E. Davis of New Jersey; four brothers, James Jones and William Earl Jones of LaGrange, Sim Jones Jr. of Fort Washington, Md., and Otha Mayo Jones of Richmond, Va.; and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
