DUDLEY — Meredith Ailene Coleman Stancil, 32, died Sunday at her home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro with the Rev. Rick Mondell officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Stancil was born in Wake County and was the daughter of James H. “Jim” Coleman Jr. of Dudley and Judy M. Crumpler of Raleigh. She was a 1989 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. A registered nurse with Wayne Memorial Hospital, she was a graduate of Wayne Community College School of Nursing. She was a devoted member of Emmaus Baptist Church and the Young Adult Sunday School Class and was an active volunteer with “Relay for Life,” serving with the Purple Star Survivors.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Chris Stancil; her maternal grandmother, Grace McIver of Sanford; her paternal grandmother, Margie M. Coleman of Raleigh; a brother and sister-in-law, James Richard and Missy Coleman of Timberlake; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle L. and Tom Montgomery of Princeton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Joanne Stancil of Dudley; and two nieces and three nephews.

The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to Relay for Life, c/o Dr. Lee Adams, 1318-C Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
