DAVID E. SHANDY SR.
David Elmo Shandy Sr., 44, died Wednesday.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Craft will officiate.
Mr. Shandy was born in Wayne County to Betty Ann Lamp of Fremont and the late Gordon Elmo Shandy. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a carpenter employed with the Goldsboro Housing Authority and was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Gordon and Corrie Shandy of Goldsboro and David Edward Shandy of Goldsboro; a daughter, Christina Divine Shandy of Goldsboro; one brother, John Calvin Shandy of Louisville, Colo.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Tamela S. and Eric Caulder of Goldsboro, Jennice S. and Kenneth Bates of Fremont and Georgianna S. Heath of Bismarck, N.D.; and one grandson, Jimmie Ray Godwin of Pikeville.
The family will be receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Tamela S. and Eric Caulder, 104 Buttonwood Road, Goldsboro.
