SHIRLEY SIMS
Shirley Perry Sims, 76, of 603 Lockhaven Court, died Tuesday at Carteret General Hospital.
The funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas McClendon will be officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mrs. Sims was born in Ahoskie to the late William R. and Elma Mae Etheridge Perry and was married to the late Raymond A. Sims. She was a member of Rosewood Church of God.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherri Herring of Beaufort; two brothers, Wallace Perry of Hertford and Wayne Perry of Mars, Pa.; four sisters, Viola Pulley of Hertford, Hazel Lanky of Portsmouth, Va., Rhea Garrison of Huntsville, Ala., and Betty Cookson of Florida; and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Rosewood Church of God, c/o Rev. Thomas McClendon, 1025 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
