ROBERT N. BROWN
MOUNT OLIVE -- Robert Nathan Brown, 80, of 1094 Waller Road, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Wingfield officiating. A graveside service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Brown was born in Sampson County and was the son of the late Leonard H. and Effie Wolfe Brown. A retired farmer, he was a former member of the Smith Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Bryan Brown; his children, Kay and Carl Hill and their children, Simon and Erin Hill, Eli and Carla Hudson, Keith and Denise Thornton and their children, John Thornton, Kayla Thornton, Bonnie Sue and Tommy Tucker and their children, Crystal Keen, Skip Tucker, Tammy Hall, Robert Jr. and Wilma Brown and their daughter, Amy Brown, David Warren and his children, Ashley Warren and Haley Warren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Elva B. Bottomlee.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday following funeral service, and at other times at the home
