RAY HOWARD
BENSON -- Ray Howard, 77, died Monday afternoon at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.
He was a former Mount Olive resident and was a retired from the U. S. Government in housing development maintenance. In his retirement years, he was employed with Lee Inc. in Mount Olive.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Douglas Bartlett and the Rev. Jimmy Swinson will officiate. Entombment will be in Maplewood Cemetery at a later time.
He is survived by a son, Walter Ray Howard of Johnson City, Tenn.; two daughters, Janet Howard Blalock of Benson, and Barbara Howard Schenck of Apex; a sister, Edna Britt of Kenly; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Goodson Howard; his parents, Granger and Ethel Millen Howard; two brothers, Ralph Howard and Russell Howard; and two sisters, Christine Howard and Kathleen Teasley.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until service time.
