LEONARD THOMPSON JR.
Leonard Lee "Moon" Thompson Jr., fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year and died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Leonard Lee Thompson, Sr. and Eunice Loftin Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Whitehurst officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Diane Mozingo Thompson; daughter, Teresa T. Hill of Goldsboro; sons, Danny Mozingo and wife, Angela, of LaGrange and Dennis Thompson of Sylva, N. C.; sisters, Edna Alphin of Kinston and Marie Willson of Raleigh; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott Thompson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of his son, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Mozingo, 280 LaGrange Rd., LaGrange.
