RUTH HOOKS
KENLY -- Ruth S. Hooks, 70, 110 E. Wiggs St., died Thursday at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral was to be held today at noon at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle in Wilson, with Elder David Hill officiating. Burial was to be in Hamilton Burial Garden, Wilson.
Ms. Hooks was a member of Mincey Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church clerk and was a member of the adult choir. She was a member of the L.N. Forbes Tabernacle Choir, the Women's Home Mission, and the Middle Eastern District Union, Southern Division.
Surviving are a daughter, Valynnda C. Oliver of Hampton, Va.; her mother, Alma S. Sessoms of Kenly; and a grandson.
The family received friends on Monday at Walter Sanders Funeral Home, Smithfield, today from 2-6:30 p.m.
