FRANK TILLMAN
Mr. Joseph Franklin "Frank" Tillman, 64, of 115 Leafwood Drive, died Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Frank was born in Wayne County and was the son of Bessie Evans Tillman of Goldsboro and the late Joseph Paul Tillman.
For those who knew Frank, he will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend to so many. The love in Frank's life was family and friends. He will be missed by many.
Frank was the owner and operator of Frema Motors Volkswagen and Mazda. He attended Adamsville Baptist Church and served in the North Carolina National Guard.
Along with a tireless commitment to help people in our community, Frank was very involved with the Board of Directors of the Goldsboro Crime Stoppers. He was president-elect of the Goldsboro Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Military Affairs Committee. Frank was a member of the Goldsboro Masonic Lodge #634 A.F. & A.M. and the Goldsboro Elks Lodge #139 B.P.O.E.
As he was faithful to his trade, Frank was a member of the National Automobile Dealers and the North Carolina Automobile Dealers. He was a former member of the Goldsboro Downtown Lions Club.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Kilby and the Dr. William Hufham officiating. Burial, with Masonic rites, will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to his mother, Frank is survived by his faithful wife, Jo Ann Kearney Tillman; his daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Sam Korschun of Goldsboro; his son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Deb Tillman of Goldsboro; his granddaughter, Martha Ann Korschun of Goldsboro; his brothers, Tommy Tillman and wife, Betty, of Goldsboro and Jerry Tillman and wife, Marianna, of Goldsboro; and a special family friend, Jo Ann Tillman Farmer of Durham.
Pallbearers will be Lee Summerlin, Dr. Steve LaFevers, Jimmie Edmundson, Charles Price, Harrell Everett, John Harris, Emmett Outlaw and Jerry Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Employee's of Frema Motors, the Goldsboro Crime Stoppers Board of Directors and the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; or to the Goldsboro Crime Stoppers, 308 N. William Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his residence.
