ELMER R. DAIL SR
LAGRANGE -- Elmer Roger Dail Sr., 78, died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dail was born in Lenoir County to the late Benjamin Franklin Dail Sr. and Sybil Colie Dail. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Buck Dail, and a brother, Benjamin F. Dail Jr. He served with the US Navy during World War II and retired from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles as a drivers' license examiner with thirty-seven years of service.
Surviving are two daughters, Scotty Brame and husband, Will, of Bethlehem, Pa., and Shaun Griffey and husband, Jay, of Iowa; a son, Roger Dail and wife, Bonnie, of LaGrange; a brother, Harold L. Dail of Deep Run; two sisters, Sue Dail Alexander of Wake Forest and Grace Dail Smith of Raleigh; six grandchildren, Bill Brame, Ben Brame, Christina Roberts, John Williams, Tara Dail and Ethan Dail; and three great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Connor and Olivia.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence, 4439 Ben Dail Road, and at the home of Roger Dail, 4709 Eason Road , LaGrange.
