Blizzard-Carter
Jessica Ann Blizzard of Pikeville and Matthew T. Carter of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 13, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Double C Ranch, with Tim Sharp officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ernest Leroy Blizzard Jr. and Sandra Oliver Blizzard of Seven Springs and the granddaughter of Betty Blizzard and the late Ernest Blizzard of Seven Springs and the late Lee and Addie Rae Oliver of Seven Springs.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from East Carolina University. She is employed as an environmental health specialist with Wayne County.
The groom is the son of Vinson and Linda Carter of Calypso and Pamela T. and Jim Hawley of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Wyatt H. and Margaret S. Carter of Goldsboro and the late Joseph H. and Beulah A. Threewitts of Goldsboro.
He has an Associate degree in turfgrass management from Wayne Community College. He is employed as a truck driver at Domino’s.
The bride was escorted by her loving father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a Morilee bridal gown with lace applique, beading and an organza-scalloped train. A fingertip-length veil with a rolled edge was loaned to the bride by her sister-in-law, Marielle Blizzard. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses.
Erin Espigh served as matron of honor, while Jennifer Hall was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Marielle Blizzard, Nichole Hill and Candice Brock.
Vinson Carter served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jeremy West, John Mark Hill, Mark Blizzard and Phillip Brock.
Madison Blizzard and Rylee Meyers were junior bridesmaids.
Janice Rice directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Craig and Mary Franklin.
Violin music was provided by Blue Sands Music.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the venue. Music for the reception was by DJ Keith Waller.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Pikeville, N.C.
A rehearsal dinner was given by Jim and Pam Hawley at the venue.
The bridesmaids’ brunch was given by friends of the groom’s mother, Vickie Howell, Mary Worrell and Lynette Howell April 29 at Uniquely R’s. The bride chose this time to present gifts to the bridal party.
