Janah Em Best and Jason Kenneth Thornton, DVM, of Grantham exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 12, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Selah Christian Church in Grantham, with the Rev Patrick Muston officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John Mark of Mount Olive and Shirley Broughton Best of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Willie James and Emily Goodson Best of Mount Olive and Julian Becton Broughton Sr. and Helen Ireland Broughton of Merritt.
She she is a graduate from East Carolina University. She is employed as a teacher at Wayne County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Kenneth Wayne and Dianne Tart Thornton of Grantham and the grandson of the late Edgar Lee and Ruby Keel Thornton of Grantham and the late Dr. John Lisker Tart Sr. and Marjorie Stevens Tart of Grantham.
He he is a graduate from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a veterinarian at his practice, Quality Care Animal Hospital, in Four Oaks, N.C.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple resides in Grantham.
