Keel-Ficken
Danielle Nicole Keel and Bryce Hain Ficken III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 21, 2013, at 5 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, Goldsboro, N.C., with pastor Jeff Dail and pastor Scott Hardy officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Danny E. and Tammy C. Keel of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Ella Mae Keel of Mount Olive, the late Thomas E. Keel of Mount Olive, Betty B. Keel and Carroll and Effie Cook of Mount Olive.
The bride is a 2006 honor graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as a teacher at North Duplin Elementary.
The groom is the son of B. Hain Ficken Jr. and Lynn Davis Ficken of Dudley and the grandson of the late Bryce H. Ficken Sr. and Mary Ficken of Mount Olive and the late Eugene C. Davis Sr. and Elsie S. Davis of Goldsboro.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2006 graduate of Mount Olive College. He is employed as president of Ficken-Blackwelder Insurance.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a mermaid-style charmeuse gown. The gown featured a strapless sweetheart neckline with crisscross ruching detail, a fitted bodice and a slightly flared skirt with asymmetrical gathering anchored with an embellishment of organza and satin flowers with rhinestones, crystal beading and sequins and a chapel train.
Her headpiece was a single-tiered fingertip veil with a beaded edge.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of coral Gerber daisies, coral roses, green hypericum berries and Queen Anne’s Lace.
Courtney Jackson Lambert of Mount Olive served as matron of honor, while bridesmaids were Janah Best of Mount Olive, Casey Pate Braswell of Mount Olive, Jessica Dierk of Raleigh and Kelsea Sanders Walters of Kinston.
Hain B. Ficken Jr. served as best man.
Groomsmen were Matt Clarke of Pine Level, Cole Dawson of Goldsboro, Caleb Keel of Mount Olive and Joe Lancaster of Dudley.
Ushers were Jim Lambert of Mount Olive and James Lancaster of Dudley.
Emma Scott Hardy and Mary Gray Hardy were flower girls.
Mrs. Meg Jackson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Miranda Wiggins. Ciera Cox distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Mooring, pianists; Brandi Worth and Robert Smith, vocalists; and Jerry Strickland, guitarist.
The parents of the bride hosted a reception at Goldsboro Country Club. Reception greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Tim Wiggins. Mrs. Kelly Strickland directed the reception.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Dudley, N.C.
The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse in Dudley Sept. 20, 2013.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party June 22, 2013, at the home of Bryce H. Ficken III hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lambert; a miscellaneous shower June 23, 2013, at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church given by Meg Jackson, Sandra Sullivan, Barbara Cook, Lorrie Britt, Effie Cook, Betty Keel and Debra Keel; a Christmas In July shower July 21, 2013, hosted by Janah Best at her home; a bachelorette party/lingerie shower given by the bridesmaids July 26 through 28 in Topsail Island; a miscellaneous shower Aug. 11, 2013, at the home of Heather Bradshaw hosted by Mrs. Bradshaw, Sue Beaman, Debra Barwick, Eileen Whitfield, Debbie Holmes, Lisa Whitfield and Jo Brown; and a bridal luncheon held Sept. 14 hosted by the bride’s mother at Duplin Winery and Bistro in Rose Hill.
